Abstract
The study aims to analyze the students’ attitude of English subject in class at the state Junior High School 17 Jambi City. The research method used is qualitative research. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation and interview. The researcher used Rosenberg and Hovland’s theory. The subject of this research was 14 students. The finding of this study showed that there were three kinds of the students’ attitude toward English subject in class at the state Junior High School 17 Jambi City, they were; first, cognitive where the students think that the English teacher had good knowledge and the always checked students’ answer in grammatical rules like and students get clarification from the students’ mistake. Second affective, where the students felt happy and get motivation and spirit to learn English, it caused students can get new knowledge. Third, conative, when the students often making more mistakes in class the English give more positive respond to the students and not be angry with them.
