Abstract

This paper discusses The Effectiveness Of Using Song Lyric Toward Students' Vocabulary Mastery At The Eight Grade of MTs N Muara Bungo In The Academic Year 2016/2017. In this research, the writer used a quantitative research approach and this approach is experimental with true experiment. The research is to get the objective data of the effect result between using song lyric method as the independent variable and students vocabulary mastery as dependent variable. While data collection is carried out with test techniques. From the results of calculations using the SPSS 24.0 Program, in the experiment class obtained the mean posttest is 76,3. While the mean posttest of class control group is 51. It was found that there is a significantly affectly the use of song lyric. To the affectly a using correlation product moment test result in r count (0.658) was bigger than r table (0.396) or 0,658 > 0,396 (table r), it means, the test was reliable. Based on the above conclution, I would like to offer some suggestions to be considered by english teacher, students, and the next researchers. For english teachers. English teacher have to be able to create new situation during the teaching learning process in the class room, so that the students will be interested in learning english. English teacher should use various of song lyric. So that the students will not get bored during the teaching learning process. Because of the limited time at school, english teacher should give more practices as homework. This is very usefull to enrich the students english vocabulary achievement.
