Abstract

This paper reviews the description of women's participation in Jambi Province, especially in the General Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of Jambi. Data were taken from 120 respondents in the province of Jambi using cluster sampling area with survey data collection techniques. The results showed that during this time women's involvement in the organization are more likely to religious organizations, and not a political party. From the education group, there was a trend whereby the higher the education level, the greater the curiosity about the vision and mission of the candidate of choice. In some stages of the election, the form of women's participation also varied. However, overall, women's involvement in that election was driven by concern for the need to have a figure of local leader.
