Abstract

The objectives of this study are to find out (1) is there any correlation between teachers' educational background and students' achievement (2)is there any correlation between students' informal learning experience and students' achievement (3)are there any correlation among teachers' educational background, students' infonnal learning experience, and students' achievement The research design was correlational study. All of the shools have A accreditation at Mts S (Private Junior High School) Kota Jambi were the population with the total number 4 teachers and 244 students. The writer used total sampling which means that the sample are 4 teachers and 244 students. The data were collected by questionnaire and unobtrusive measure about teachers' educational background, students' infonnal learning experience, and students' achievement. Next, the result of the coefficient correlation between teachers' educational background and students' achievement was r=0.032. It means that those variables are positively correlated. However, r=0,032 is considered very low correlation. Then, the result of the coefficient correlation between students' informal learning experience and students' achievement was r=0.128. It means that those variables are positively correlated. However, r=0,128 is considered very low correlation. The last, correlation among teachers' educational background, students' infromal learning experience, and students'. achievement was r=O,117. It means that those variables are positively correlated. However, r=0,117 is considered very low correlation.
