Abstract
This study discusses the strategies of teachers in teaching English at An-Nahl Elementary School in Jambi City. This research is a qualitative research with data collection in the form of observation and interviews. The subjects in this study were English teachers as key informants, students and school principals became informants when the data was completed and fact analysis with data that was concluded with the English teacher so that, correctly the data source was by the English teacher. The results of this study found that the teaching strategies of the teachers used in teaching speaking at SDN An Nahl, Jambi City used recordings & transcripts, dialogues, discussions, class conversations and casual chat. The teacher uses the technique because it is based on a handbook and is easy to practice. Some other strategies are sometimes used by teachers, but their frequency is very rare
