Abstract

This study is to find out the data about the effect of using CLL method on students’ speaking ability. This research was conducted in Senior High School 10 Kota Jambi year 2019/2020. This school uses K 13 curriculum. In conducting the research, the writer used quasi experimental research. Based on the analysis reseach, there is significant difference of the student’s speaking ability between those who are taught by using Community Language Learning and those without using it. It can be proved from t-test result was 0,036, Sig. Value lower than 0,05 for level significance 0.05, so there are difference Speaking achievement between experiment and control class. The students who are taught by using Community Language Learning have higher score than those are taught by using Direct Method. It can be proved from the average of speaking achievement. The students who are taught by using Community Language Learning (71,58) have higher score than those taught by using Direct Method (68,92). The result of the data analysis proven than student’s score of Speaking taught by using Community Language Learning is better. It means that the use of Community Language Learning to teach Speaking is quite effective.
