Abstract

This study is aimed to find out (1) whether or not there is a significant correlation between students’ reading habit, and reading comprehension; (2) whether or not there is a significant correlation between students’ reading anxiety and reading comprehension; (3) whether or not there are significant correlation among students’ reading habit, reading anxiety and reading comprehension. The research design is correlational study. The population and sample of this research is the students of VIIIB classat MTS Al-Khalifah Sarolangun. All of them are involved in this research, which consisted 17 students, because the researcher usespurposive sampling technique. The data are collected by questionnaire to measure the reading habit and reading anxiety and test to measure the reading comprehension. The result of this research shows that there is Correlation among Reading Habit and reading comprehension with person correlations 0,192 and it is categorized very low correlation, means that more positive reading habit of students had, higher the students’ achievement of reading comprehension. There is correlation between reading anxiety and reading comprehension with person correlations 0,151 and it is categorized very low correlation means that more positive reading anxiety of students had, higher the students’ achievement of reading comprehension; there is Correlation among Reading Habit, reading anxiety and reading comprehension is 0,00 < 0,5with person correlations 0,1means that there is significantCorrelation among Reading Habit, reading anxiety and reading comprehensionand categorized very low correlation. So, it could be concluded that the achievement of students in reading comprehension is not really significantly influenced by reading habit and reading anxiety.
