Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out the types of teacher written feedback on students' writing work in the twelfth grade of Senior High School 1 Kota Jambi and the way of the teacher gives written feedback on students' writing. This research is a qualitative descriptive study in which the data is taken from observations, analysis of students' writing that has given written feedback from English teacher and interview. Methods of data collection are from observation, documentation and interview. Techniques for analyzing data are data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of this research the researcher showed the teacher used direct written feedback and indirect written feedback. The way of teacher giving written feedback, the teacher uses some codes such as: circle, arrow, question mark, cross mark, underline, Curly brackets, and some comment.
