Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out strategy used by teacher in teaching reading comprehension especially for tenth grade broadcasting students. This research include qualitative research with descriptive qualitative design and this research conducted at SMKN 2 Kota Jambi with the subject in the research is one of English teacher. The data was collecting by interview through cellphone and what’s app. based on the result of the research, the researcher found that there were three strategies used by the teacher. They are scaffolding, think aloud and PQRST. The most strategy used by the teacher in teaching reading is PQRST, because it can be used to help students who less understanding of the reading material.
