Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate QAR strategy used by teacher in teaching reading comprehension at MTs Daarul Jalal Tebo and the object on the second year in the academic year of 2018/2019. This a qualitative research, the research employing observations, interviews to collect data and data analysis in this research was descriptive analysis, data reduction, data display, conclusion or verification and triangulation. The result of the study showed that there were four QAR are used by teacher in teaching reading comprehension at MTs Daarul Jalal Tebo; they were giving the right questions, where the teacher often used the words and the question are the same words found in the text; second was thinking and search questions, where the teacher required students to think about how the ideas from the text; third was combining with experience, where the teacher asked the students to combine with their experience to explore their understanding about the material that were given by the teacher; Fourth, was on my own, where the teacher used to know the students‟ knowledge after they had read the text and the last is group discussion the teacher would normally start giving the 5 different materials to the student
