Abstract

The study, entitled Linguistics Problems of Autistic Children at SLB Sri Soedewi Jambi was conducted aiming to find out the problems of children with autism when learning English and the language disorders they experience and also to find out ways teachers to overcome their problems by using several therapies in autistic children. in Slb Sri Soedewi Jambi. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with the type of field research. The data in this study were obtained based on words in autistic children and in teachers at school. While the data sources are autistic children and teachers in SLB Sri Soedewi Jambi. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The author uses the ASHA theory and Carrol's theory to solve the existing problem formulation. Based on the discussion and results in this study, it can be concluded that the acquisition of language in autistic children with normal children is very much different. Research on these three students proves that autistic children have difficulty expressing themselves and difficulty understanding the words of others (expressive disorder and receptive disorder). And some problems when learning English experienced by autistic children are phonological disorder, morphological disorder, syntactic disorder, semantic disorder and pragmatic disorder. Language acquisition in children with autism occurs very slowly and requires a long time to be able to use sentences that are good and right. And the teacher give some therapy like behavioral therapy, speech therapy, develomental therapy, visual therapy and music therapy.
